Sound Therapy in Farnham and Dockenfield

Sound has been used as a powerful and effective healing tool for thousands of years. The classical scholars of ancient India and the Pythagorean philosophers in Greece both independently believed all physical form to be manifestations of sound. Sound has also been used by the Romans, by Native Americans and by shamanic cultures, in a variety of ways to bring about changes in the human condition. Many of these traditions continue, and today modern science is confirming and supporting these ancient techniques.

Sound Therapy can enhance our sense of self and encourage our experience of well-being. It supports our body's natural state of health and reduces stress and tension. Sound Therapy is holistic in approach and is able to influence all levels of human experience, whether physical, mental, emotional, energetic or spiritual.

complementary medicine alton #02Sound affects us on a daily basis and in a variety of ways

Everything in the universe is made up of vibrating particles, each with its own natural resonance (or sound) – including the human body with all of its organs and systems - even our thoughts and moods. These natural resonances can become disturbed and so shift from their optimum frequencies. The result may be experienced as stress and tension, or lethargy and a lack of well-being, so common in our lives today. We may simply just not feel right in ourselves. However, if the imbalance is extreme, or if it continues too long, it can become established as a new way of being. This does not serve us well, and eventually we can show symptoms of illness and disease. Sound Therapy gives our body system the opportunity to regain its equilibrium.

Enjoy your natural resonance

Therapeutic sound is able to intervene at the level of vibration and bring about a return to our natural resonance, both generally and also targeting specific aspects of the human body and experience.

Whether you come for a regular “tune-up”, a relaxation session, or you need help with a long term chronic illness, sound can help you enjoy a better quality of life. Sound Therapy can help balance the emotions, quieten a busy mind and promote the body’s ability to heal and whole itself.
